Uninstructed Plein-Air Paint-Out
This isolated area was once the shoreline of an ancient inland sea. The canyon is rimmed by a series of collapsed reef systems. On site accommodations are extremely limited. The closest gas, food, and water is 20 minutes away. Be certain to bring your own shade and be mindful of snake encounters.

NOTE: Cell phone transmission is limited in this area. Look for us along the park entrance at 10 am. RSVP by Wednesday, April 6.

Take the 5-Fwy north to the 14-Fwy, east toward Lancaster. At Mojave, bear right on the 14-Fwy toward Ridgecrest. The entrance to the visitor center is well marked.

This excursion is uninstructed and open to all artists interested in painting some of the most spectacular landscapes that Southern California has to offer. There is NO fee to participate, but you will want to bring plenty of water and a light snack. Trails are clearly marked and it is possible to paint from or near your vehicle.
